Dig Dug Euro control panel overlays
A couple of months ago a deal was struck and a Dig Dug Euro cab was acquired. The machine currently lives at a friends place as we still haven’t been able to organise anywhere to put our machines in the new house yet (don’t talk to me about builders having no work! getting one to actually come back with a quote would be a good starter!!!).
Anyway, I’ll get a page put up with some pictures of the machine and all the rest of it when I next remember to take my camera down there but in summary, it needs new woodgrain for the sides, new black laminate for the front, a bit of wood restoration along the bottom and a new control panel overlay as parts are missing.
As repro overlays are only available for the US version of the game, and they don’t fit properly, I’m going to look into producing some. To do this I’ll need to clean up what’s there of mine (about 90% of it is intact, including all the instructions), scan it and produce artwork files for a printer. Then, depending on demand I’ll have to see how I can get them printed up. How they’re printed up will depend on demand.
Now then, this will take some time. At least months, as I’m very busy and have not done this kind of thing before so don’t expect anything too quickly, however, if you have one of these machines and would be interested in a good quality replacement overlay for your machine then could you please register your interest by using the feedback form on the left. Note that there’s absolutely no commitment involved and at this stage I have no idea what they’re likely to cost. I just need to know if anyone else is remotely interested, as to how viable certain printing methods may be. Please note however that these WILL be good quality. If I can’t do good quality then I’ll not bother at all. I like my machines to be good quality so there’ll certainly be no home made inkjet prints!
