This is a bit of kit that i got off ebay a couple years ago now. It's basically a signature analyser, loosely similar to the Atari Cat Box, but it's specifically geared towards Taito's games of the time which were the likes of Qix, Zookeeper and Kram and as such is specifically designed to be used with 6809 processors (i beleive they used a 6809D for the main processor, a 6809V for the graphics and a 6802 for sound, but i'd have to verify that in one of the game manuals to be really sure that's correct, so don't quote me on that!).
I've not really got to do much with it to be honest, but i did open it all up and take some photos of it, so here they are. A short while after getting it a manual was located, again off of eBay so it shouldn't prove too hard to work out how it all works. Unfortunately that manual turned out to be a complete ripoff as is often the case with eBay as the picture in the auction showed an original manual, yet a photocopy turned up. Oh well, a photocopy is better than no copy.
If you have an original you'd like to sell then please get in touch...
The camera that i owned at the time wasn't all that great so please excuse the quality of the some of the pictures, and please be patient while they load, there's a lot of them!
First a couple of the thing open.

Now a few
of it working. Well, doing stuff at least! Maybe one day I'll write
up it's use in gory detail.

The PCB.
End on, you'll see there really isn't much to this
thing.

The
control pob and then the cpu connector (excuse the wood these
things would NOT lay flat).

And
finally, for your viewing pleasure what appears to be a dongle.
This was in the case when i got it. I assume it's part of the test
tech, but i don't know for sure. I don't recall seeing any mention
of it in the manual mind.

Thats it
for now. I have more pictures if anyones interested but they were
even more blurry and were largely just closeups of specific areas
so i didn't really feel the need to add them in here as they didn't
really add much. Maybe one day i'll get to have more of a play with
it and write up a more in-depth article about it.
